The Delivery Scams We’re Seeing This Month
Fake parcel, redelivery and customs messages keep showing up. Here is the easiest way to check them without taking the bait.
Delivery scams keep working for one simple reason: plenty of people really are waiting for a parcel.
A text arrives saying the driver could not deliver.
Maybe your address needs updating. Maybe there is a small customs charge. Maybe you need to pay a redelivery fee.
It feels plausible because it could easily be true.
This month, we have continued to see people checking exactly these kinds of messages.
The scammer does not need your order history
A delivery scam does not have to be personalised.
The sender can blast the same message to thousands of people and rely on coincidence.
Someone will be waiting for shoes, a phone case, groceries or a birthday present.
That little moment of recognition is enough to make the link feel relevant.
The small fee is often not the real target
A message asking for a tiny delivery fee can feel low risk.
The page behind it may be after something much more valuable:
- your card details
- your banking login
- your email address
- your phone number
- your password
- a verification code
The small payment gets you onto the page. The information you enter can be worth far more.
Verify the parcel somewhere else
The safest response is wonderfully boring.
Do not click the link.
Open the courier app you already use, visit the official courier website yourself or go back to the original retailer order.
If the parcel genuinely has a problem, you should normally be able to find that problem without using the suspicious message.

Watch for pressure dressed up as logistics
Scam delivery texts often sound operational rather than dramatic.
They may say:
- delivery failed
- address incomplete
- parcel held
- customs outstanding
- action required
- package will be returned
The language is designed to make clicking feel like ordinary parcel administration.
That is why context matters more than spelling mistakes or logos.
A professional-looking page proves very little
Fake courier pages can look excellent.
They can copy branding, tracking layouts and payment screens closely enough to feel familiar.
Instead of asking whether the page looks real, ask how you reached it.
If the only route to the page was an unexpected message, verify the parcel independently before entering anything.
If you already entered card details
Contact your bank or card provider and explain what happened.
If you entered a password, change it on the real service and anywhere else you reused it.
If you shared a verification code, tell the provider that the code may have been exposed.
For suspicious delivery texts, paste the message into the SMS scam checker or use the parcel delivery scam checker.
The safest rule is simple: let the real courier confirm the message, not the other way around.
